Many a Nottingham Forest fan would be forgiven for completely forgetting that Djamel Abdoun actually still plays for the club.
He has not played for Forest since March 2014, not featuring in a single game this season.
The 29-year-old Algerian international has spent part of this season on loan in Belgium with Lokeren and is now set for a permanent exit from the City Ground in the summer. The country he is reportedly destined to end up in is one where he has certainly experienced previous success.
This week it has been reported by L'Expressiondz that Abdoun is a target for Greek clubs AEK Athens and PAOK Salonika.
Abdoun has previously enjoyed successful stints in Greece with Kavala and Olympiakos, so a return to the country would certainly be welcomed by the player himself.
The winger, who has also played for Ajaccio and Manchester City, arrived at Nottingham Forest in 2013 from Olympiakos and is still under contract with the club until 2016 - so they can expect a fee for the player.
It certainly looks as if Abdoun will finally be given his marching orders by the club this summer.
