Sydney FC target Slovakia striker

Slovakia forward Filip Holosko is rumoured to be a target for Sydney FC as Graham Arnold seeks to replace departed striker Marc Janko.
Austria captain Janko won the A-League's golden boot with 16 goals last season, firing the Sky Blues to second place in the regular season standings and into the grand final, which they lost 3-0 to Melbourne Victory.
Janko opted not to extend his stay though, leaving after one campaign as international marquee to join FC Basel in the Swiss Super League.
That departure leaves head coach Arnold with a void to fill at the point of his team's attack. Bernie Ibini and Corey Gameiro have also left Sydney FC, with Shane Smeltz and captain Alex Brosque the only experienced forwards left in the first-team squad.
Holosko, 31, made his competitive debut for AS Trencin in his native Slovakia in 2001 before moving to Czech side Slovan Liberec a year later. He has impressed in Turkey's Super Lig with Manisaspor and Besiktas since 2006 and has 65 caps for his country, appearing at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
Media in Slovakia and Australia - including the Sydney Morning Herald - have reported Sydney's alleged interest in Holosko.
