Brisbane Roar have brought together the Aloisi brothers after Ross Aloisi was appointed as an assistant coach to his younger sibling John.

As the A-League club battles a multitude of off-field problems, it continues to strengthen its football department as it builds towards the coming season.

Former Adelaide United skipper Ross Aloisi joins the Roar after a stint as an assistant coach with the Matildas during the Women's World Cup and as coach of the national under-17s women's team.

In addition to his sterling playing resume, the elder Aloisi also coached West Adelaide for three years, guiding them from the South Australian third tier to the SA National Premier Leagues on a 42-game unbeaten run.

"The Roar squad is packed with talented players. The club has a reputation for attacking, entertaining football and I am excited to be part of that," Ross said.

John Aloisi said the experience his brother had gained in recent top-level coaching positions would be a timely boost for the Roar.

"I have begun to introduce new structures around how the team plays and Ross's input and assistance will be invaluable as we look to fine-tune and deliver on the way I want us to play," he said.
